The Robotics Club customises its programmes to cater to the needs of pupils in the interest group, mass participation group and talent development group. We have adopted the Lego Mindstorms series to provide platforms for pupils to design and create programmes to control robots in performing required tasks. In recent years, we have also introduced the VEX robotics system, providing pupils with opportunity to learn robotics on a different platform. Through the robotics sessions, pupils will be engaged in critical thinking to which they develop and display their creativity in problem solving. Pupils who display proficiency in robotics skills, demonstrate good character, values and positive social behaviours, will be considered to represent the school in robotics competitions. Compassvale Primary School is regarded as one of the key players in the local robotics arena and has clinched numerous awards at local and international competitions. Our pupil representatives also had the opportunities in travelling to countries such as Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Abu Dhabi for regional and international robotics competitions such as the Asia-Pacific VEX Robotics Championship, thus gaining valuable exposures to different cultures and competition standards. The Robotics Club has helped develop many pupils with the competencies in robotics and inculcation of strong core values and good social interaction skills.
